In 2005 Richard bought and refurbished the historical Bentley’s, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2016. One of London’s most famous oyster bar and seafood restaurants, legendary clients included Charlie Chaplin and Oscar Wilde. Expect to find on the menu Corrigan’s signature dishes such as fish pie, dressed crab, linguine Vongole and a rich variety of wild native oysters sourced from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. During peak season, Bentley’s famous Oyster Boys shuck up to 1000 oysters daily. Hands on experience can be enjoyed with monthly seafood classes, as well as partaking in Bentley’s regular Beef & Oyster Club, and Cigar tasting nights.
‘A venerable West End Institution. Corrigan is crazy about raw materials – the oysters are wonderful, the fish spanking fresh – and unapologetic about the prices. The old guard is cajoled by dressed crab, fish pie and fish and chips, but the kitchen also has plenty of contemporary aces up its sleeve: grilled octopus and artichoke, say, or Dover sole with sea kale and citrus.’ 2015 Good Food Guide
